Born August 11, 1983, in Melbourne, Australia, Chris Hemsworth rose to fame as the titular character in Thor (2011). Before he portrayed the iconic superhero, Hemsworth (whose brothers, Luke and Liam, are also actors) appeared on the soap opera Home and Away. After three years and 171 episodes, he left the series to make a name for himself in Hollywood.

Following his breakout role in Thor, Hemsworth continued his Marvel streak in numerous films, including The Avengers (2012), Thor: The Dark World (2013), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).

The Australian native also played George Kirk in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek (2009) and subsequently starred in Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), The Hunstman: Winter’s War (2016), Ghostbusters (2016), Men in Black: International (2019), Extraction (2020) and Spiderhead (2022).

The action star gained a generous amount of attention for his physique after appearing in numerous MCU franchise films. After his exercise routines were regularly discussed in the media, Hemsworth created the fitness app Centr, which provided nutrition, wellness, and exercise routines to paying subscribers. In March 2022, HighPost Capital, the private equity firm co-founded by Jeff Bezo’s younger brother, Mark Bezos, and David Moross, bought the app which had a valuation rate of over $200 million.

Hemsworth wed Spanish actress Elsa Pataky in December 2010. They welcomed daughter India in May 2012 and two twin boys, Tristan and Sasha, in March 2014. In 2015, the family moved from Los Angeles to Byron Bay, New South Wales in Australia.
